1002HAGadgetMix has posted a detailed review of the Asus Eee 1002HA. Overall impressions were positive with the machine taking all of the plus points from the Asus S101 and Asus 1000H. Think of it as a regular hard-disk drive version of the S101, taking all of its styling cues too.

The design was found to be more professional that the 1000H, not being as curvy, with the netbook made from a brushed plastic giving it a premium look.

Key points from the review:

  • 10-inch non-glossy (1024 x 600) display is adequately sharp and colourful.
  • Keyboard is excellent and doesn’t require much force to register commands compared to the 1000H.
  • Trackpad is identical to Eee S101 and supports multi-touch gestures.
  • Access to the HDD and RAM is provided.
  • The 4200mAh lithium-polymer battery lasted a little more than 3 hours with WiFi enabled.
  • CrystalMark scores similar to the S101 apart from the HDD scores which the S101 obviously wins given that it sports a SSD storage drive. also posted their thoughts on the 1002HA and found that the HDD performance was better than the 1000H. This is interesting as the hardware between the two is very similar. The 1002HA likely benefits from a SATA2 connection.
