I purchased the 1410 last week from J&R. From a performance standpoint it is definitely a step up from my Samsung NC10. Larger screen really makes a big difference as well. No more hidden buttons at the bottom of a window I have to tab to. I Installed Win7 Ultimate and with 2gb ram it loads to log in screen in ~40s
Wireless is much better than my NC10.
The things that are a let down:
The build quality (NC10 just feels better
Keyboard: Jury is still out on the Chiclets keys, and it is a little spongy in the middle
Glossy Screen a mixed blessing. Nice indoors but a pain when the sun is out.
No Blue-tooth (whats with that?)
Cheesy Power cord.

My perceived value is this should sell for ~$379-$399
Next year when these things are selling for sub $300 with this kind of speed they will fly off the shelf.
This is what a netbook should have been all along. Now if they can just get it to the 751 series price point we will really have something.

I've just bought one (in red) last week.....same spec are listed by Anton above. it is 3GB ram in Canada...! Good sound, display and cute, battery can stand upto 5 - 6 hrs (depend on how you use it). I am waiting for the Window 7 upgrade in October. Hopefully, it can improve this "little" laptop some performances.

The Difference with acer timeline 1810 at asia region? it got here at cost $690
for each of it. to much difference that i can't imagine if it's true like here :

# Intel Core 2 Solo Processor ULV SU3500, 1.40 GHz
# 3M L2 Cache, 800MHz Front Bus Speed
# 2048MB DDR2 667MHz RAM (2 DDR slots, 1 available, 4GB max)
# 250GB (5400 RPM) SATA Hard Drive
# 11.6" HD WXGA CrystalBrite LED-backlit Display (1366 x 768), 16:9 aspect ratio
# Integrated Crystal Eye Webcam
# Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD
# High Definition Audio Support
# Built-in Stereo Speakers
# Intel WiFi Link 5100 802.11a/b/g/Draft-N Wireless
# 10/100/1000 Ethernet LAN
# Multi-in-1 Card Reader SD, MMC, MS, MS Pro, xD
# Multi-gesture Touchpad supporting circular-motion scrolling, pinch-action Zoom and page flip
# Ports: 3 x USB 2.0, Headphone/Speaker/Line-Out, Microphone-in, VGA, HDMI, RJ-45 (LAN)
# Approximate Unit Dimensions: 11.22" (W) x 8.03" (D) x 0.87-1.18" (H)
# Approximate Unit Weight: 3.08 Pounds

the difference is only :
*) get 1 external dvdrw which cost less than $90
*) 4gb ram instead of 2gb
*) 8-Cell instead of 6-Cell

the difference is $690-$449 which $240
unfair T_T

I wish they'd include the bluetooth-I'd rather have all three USB ports available instead of having to tie one up with a dongle.

@ Denny

I've been snooping around and this is what I've gathered, take from it what you will:

1) The battery on the 1410 is indeed the 4400 (6hr) battery, not the 6500 (8hr) battery that accompanies the 1810T
2) Someone posted a Acer tech response email regarding bluetooth: the 1410 does not include it, they recommend a dongle that will occupy 1 of 3 USB ports.
3) The 1410 does indeed have the same processor as the 1810T (SU3500)
Go here for benchmark comparisons of CPUs: http://tinyurl.com/neag8s

Currently with bing CB you can get this model @ J&R elec for $405 otd., if that changes your decision at all.

It has the SU3500 processor with an estimated 6 hour battery life. It does not have bluetooth but this can be added for less than 5 bucks.

It can be preordered from jr.com for 449 - 10% bing cashback, making the final total around 405.00. Not a bad price at all...

I'm with Denny-The options that peaked my interest were the bluetooth, the processor, and the 8-hour battery. If the US version is EXACTLY like the original listing of the 1810T, then I'm in-but if it's not, I'll just wait and see what the competition comes up with.

From what I've seen it has the same processor as the 1810T. The official product page on the US site (linked in the article) says it has a 'Intel Core2 Solo Processor SU3500'.

If the 1410 really is a budget version, I'm struggling to tell what the difference might be.
