Samsung N210 and N220 netbooks hit UK retail

January 16, 2010 at 11:57 am

Samsung N220 netbookSamsung’s N210 and N220 Pine Trail netbooks are now available in the UK via a number of different retailers. Amazon UK doesn’t have them in stock but has listed them as being “usually dispatched within 1 to 3 months”. However, a number of other e-tailers have them listed in stock including CCL Computers and Laptops Direct. CCL has the cheapest prices with the N210 listed for £307.63 and N220 for £318.10.

The 10.1-inch (1024 x 600) Pine Trail netbooks will have an 11-hour battery life and come with the N450 Atom CPU, 1GB RAM, 250GB HDD and Windows 7 Starter. Other features include chiclet keyboard, Wi-Fi (b/g/n) and webcam.

The only differences between to the two models are aesthetic as far as I can tell. The Samsung N210 comes in black and white colours, whilst the Samsung N220 has a two-tone lid (red/black and green/black), which is why it costs that bit extra.

There are too many Samsung’s in the market at the moment..It has only been about 6 months since the N130 and the N140 hit the streets

The N220 does look fab. It’s a better tweaked version of N140 with positive notable changes in CPU & Battery (changed from 5200mAh to 5900mAh for longer battery life than N140 on a single charge).

The battery on my Samsung N140 worked well for three months and now its faltering big time. Its easy to cosmetically beautify the product, but in the end its the quality of the parts (ensemble) that makes the product live long and give classy experience to the user. I hope Samsung realises its not quantity or churning of newer models that counts but quality and hopefully ‘Quality’ doesn’t become an issue for Samsung. I like the way Toshiba is creating its portfolio.
