Download Windows 7 RC now, lasts uninterrupted until Mar 2010

May 5, 2009 at 1:21 pm

Windows 7For those of you wondering how Windows 7 may fare on your beloved netbook, we thought we’d highlight that the Release Candidate is now available for public download. The great thing about the RC release, is that the license will run interrupted until 1 March 2010, plenty of time to find out if Windows 7 is right for you.

The actual RC license will not expire until 1 June 2010, but after March 1, the OS will begin to shutdown every two hours. At this point you’ll need to install a legit version of Windows 7 or choose a different OS. How does this differ from the beta you may ask? Well the beta will expire on August 1 with bi-hourly shutdowns beginning from July 1 2009. The RC’s improvements over the beta release can be found here.

For those that are impressed with Windows 7 RC on their netbook, it is worth mentioning that the RC is based on the Ultimate version of Windows 7. If you decide at a later period to buy a netbook with Windows 7 preinstalled, then it is likely it will come with the Starter Edition which has the (crippling) three application at a time limit.

To get the RC you will need to register for a product key. You can download Windows 7 RC here. Be prepared though, it’s not a quick download at 2,414MB.

I received Microsoft Plus! XP as a gift and I rellay don’t have the heart to tell my friend that they wasted their money. Oh, there are a couple of good things on the disc but nothing that rellay merits the purchase price. It’s almost like the software was an afterthought let’s see what we can put in it since we don’t rellay have anything.First off lets start the Digital Media collection. Nothing here rellay to speak of that’s worth anything. A voice recognition system for the media player? It’s not worth fighting with to run just a media player. The label maker, speaker enhancement and personal DJ? They don’t do anything that rellay matters (or other software doesn’t do without spending the extra cash). Media Player skins and Visualizations? You can download those for free from a number of sites and again without paying for it. As for the MP3 audio converter, yes the new files are smaller but the only player you can use is the Microsoft one and the sound quality is not as good as an MP3. The games there are only three and only one is a full version. The other two require downloads and additional purchases. The Bowling game is difficult to control and well, boring. The Labyrinth game isn’t too bad but it’s very difficult. The winner is Russian Square which is actually fun and addictive. As for the themes and screen savers most aren’t anything that special or noteworthy. The one exception is the aquarium screensaver which rellay is something to look at. But again, if you want the full version of the program you have to pay an additional cost. The rest aren’t anything that rellay merits the cost of the program. Overall I’m rellay disappointed in the entire package the cost is far too high for what you get and I can’t help shaking the feeling the entire package is just a cheesy gimmick to sell you even more software. Look at the great things in Microsoft Plus! XP then when you buy it you find out you have to pay even more for the rest of the programs.

I relaly relaly disagree with this piece and very strongly. I have known Danny and he is a sincere generous man, who is being accused of things he never intended. The guy relaly loves india, and he shot what he saw was cinematically a very powerful location.Manjha is a powerful piece and it could be true in any part of the world. All over the world films are made which talk about darker things which actually bring humanitarian attention to them, they impact you affect you. Manjha is one such film and so was A very very silent film by Manish which won the cannes award few years ago. Neither of them intended to sell indias poverty and yes even though I am putting Tumbaad together, it wouldnt have been possible without everyones attention being drawn to Manjha. Dannys generosity is unmatchable in this bollywood that we liveand work in and his dignity shows in the fact that he is silently taking all the accusations. This is a very narrow point of view that you state here and very distressing . It makes me angry that someone wrote this, without relaly knowing the man.
