HP Compaq 110c (Mini 110) netbook announced for UK market

May 27, 2009 at 6:19 pm

HP Compaq 110cFollowing on from this morning’s HP announcement of new HP Mini netbooks for the US market, we now have details of the UK SKU. The HP Compaq Mini 110c (effectively the same as the US Mini 110) will launch in the UK in August with a suggested retail price starting at £279.

The features are very similar to the HP Mini 110 and, importantly, the 110c will also come with the optional video accelerator found in the Mini 110. The swirl-lid design that adorns the US Mini 110 and 1101 is not present here. Instead it has a high-gloss ‘infinity’ imprint finish.

The 110c will have a 10.1-inch BrightView display and a 92 percent sized keyboard. It will come powered by a 1.66GHz N280 Atom CPU and Intel 950 graphics. Other features include a 160GB hard-disk drive, three USB ports, a 5-in-1 card reader, webcam, mic and optional 3G. The Compaq 110c will weigh 1.17kg with the 3-cell battery and is 33mm (1.3-inches) thick. This will come with Windows XP, so you won’t get the Linux option like you do with the Mini 110 Mi.

    WHY COMPAQ SUCKS:
    – Glossy Display (HP Mini 110 with anti-glare (usa))
    – Ugly “skin” (color) should use the hp pattern
    – BIG FAT “Q” on the lid

Everthing done wrong hp / compaq europe.. YOU SUCK!

hope there will be an hp 2140 (because the compaq design is ugly) with antiglossy display (within europe)

    WHU BUTTER SUCKS:

    -You are whiner =)
Why whine about artistic things. My reason for purchase was entirely harware inside it.

Though when i saw this at store i came ti my pants imidiately, it looked sweet !

So my opinion of this is entirely opposire of yours : )

Only thing i miss so far is that they should have equipped OS installation files on hidden partition on HD like Acer does on it´s laptops. This 160Gb HD wouldn´t suffer that much from max. 4,5Gb hidden un-usable space.

Just a quick question you guys. How come I found that exact same laptop without that q on the lid? There was an hp on the lower left corner though. I am confused, any difference between the two. The specs were exactly the same. The only thing that was different was that Q.

It’s an very good laptop it’s look it very good with With a maximum height of 32 mm, the Mini 110c is within the average range of 10-inch netbooks. The power supply is however much more compact than many competing models with dimensions of 90 x 36 x 27 mm. The weight is too much content with only 77 g. The hinges provide a smooth continuation to the slab while offering a pleasant handling. The two speakers are located below the slab. Despite a modest size, they offer a proper power, sufficient in most situations. The quality delivered is satisfactory for a netbook. why is norton security installed before purchase. I and a lot of other people wouldn’t give $00.2 for Norton and by the way, can you legally do that?
