Samsung ND10: An OS-less NC10 [Video]

August 13, 2009 at 11:49 am

Samsung ND10The guys over at NetbookNews spotted a Samsung ND10 netbook model on a trip to China. For those wondering how this particular model differs from the best-selling NC10, the answer is not much.

In fact the only difference appears to be that the ND10 does not come with an operating system and therefore is around $50 cheaper. This is great if you wanted to stick your own Linux distro on it without paying the ‘Windows tax’. It’s unlikely to make an appearance outside of China though. Check out the hands-on video after the jump.

I think any customer would wanna pay $50 more to avoid going thru the hassles of deploying an OS of their own choice. Not a good ploy by Samsung.

@Bob I, for one, would love to spare $50 and install the Linux distribution of my choice on the machine. Great idea Samsung.

This would be great for installing Windows 7 on since you’d have to pay for both XP and 7 with an NC10.
