Acer officially announces 11.6” dual-core Aspire Timeline AS1810TZ
October 14, 2009 at 8:10 pm
We first brought you details of the Acer Aspire Timeline AS1810TZ over two months ago. However, it’s taken all this time for Acer to officially announce the device for the US market. The 11.6-inch AS1810TZ features a 1.3GHz dual-core SU7300 processor and will launch with Windows 7 Home Premium on October 22nd from $549.99.
The company is quoting eight hours of battery life using its high capacity 6-cell battery.
Other features include a multi-gesture touchpad, Wi-Fi (Draft-N) and a webcam. The netbook weighs just 3.08lbs (1.4kg). At its thickest point, the AS1810TZ measures just over one-inch in thickness. It will be available in three colours (Diamond Black, Sapphire Blue, Brushed Aluminum). Check out the specifications after the jump. Read more
Acer Aspire Timeline 1820P: 11.6” multi-touch display
October 7, 2009 at 10:20 am
Following on from yesterday’s news regarding the Gateway EC18T, an 11.6-inch convertible netbook, I was waiting to see how long it would be before an Acer equivalent crops up. After all, Gateway is owned by Acer. Lo and behold, macles has revealed the Acer Aspire Timeline 1820P convertible tablet.
Given the similarities in model number to the 11.6-inch Aspire 1810T (or 1410 as it’s known in some regions), don’t expect the technical hardware to differ. Apparently the port layout, components and technical specifications are all the same. The main difference is that the 1820P will be multi-touch enabled (I’m guessing therefore a capacitive screen?)
The tablet mechanism does mean that the 1820P is around 300g heavier than the 1810T. It will ship with Windows 7, so hopefully we should see a release by the end of the year. Check out some larger pictures after the break. Read more

Acer Aspire 1810T (1410) video unboxing & first impressions
August 16, 2009 at 3:07 pm
The first impressions of the Acer Aspire 1810T (or 1410 as it’ll be known in the US) have started to filter through. Phil at Acer1810TReview has posted, largely, positive initial thoughts on the device, with one of the main setbacks being the inability to playback H264 video without a 100-percent CPU load.
Despite this, the 1810T feels very well built and more powerful than your usual netbook. His version comes with a single-core 1.4GHz SU3500 processor and we already know that another SKU, the 1810TZ, will come with a dual-core 1.3GHz SU4100 processor. It’s also good to know that the 6-cell 5600mAh battery sits flush with the bottom of the device. He also posted his unboxing videos, which we’ve attached after the break. Also, ITC.ua has posted their second part of their 1810T review, which you may want to check out. Read more
Acer’s 11.6-inch Aspire 1810TZ to feature dual-core CULV processor
August 13, 2009 at 2:56 pm
We already know about the Acer Aspire Timeline 1810 11.6-inch ultra-thin, however it appears that a more powerful version may be on the horizon. The Aspire 1810TZ has appeared on the official Acer China site and the extra Z denotes the inclusion of a 1.3GHz dual-core SU4100 chip. This compares to the 1.4Ghz single-core SU3500 processor found in the 1810T.
Both chips come with the same 800MHz FSB and are based on the 45nm Penryn core. The SU4100 has a 2MB cache compared to 3MB for the SU3500. As you would expect the TDP of the SU4100 is nearly double (10W) than that of the SU3500 (5.5W).
There’s no word on which regions the 1801TZ is expected to appear in, however it is also listed on the US-based Energy Star site that could mean a US release. The other specifications remain the same. We’ll bring you more information as we have it.
Acer Aspire Timeline 1810T rebranded ‘Aspire 1410’ in US/Canadian markets
August 13, 2009 at 1:15 pm
It appears that Acer’s 11.6-inch CULV-powered ultra-thin, the Aspire Timeline 1810T will be rebranded in the US/Canada. The model will be known as the Aspire 1410 in certain markets and is listed as such on the Acer US site. It is also available to pre-order at both OfficeNation and CDW for between $465 – $475.
The model was first brought to our attention by reader Koolshen, who spotted it listed on the Acer Germany site. Confusingly, the Aspire 1410 is still listed on the German site, despite the fact that the support pages list the Timeline 1810T. It is unknown whether Acer will adopt the new name at this late stage, however most European pre-order pages we’ve come across still list it as the 1810T.
The Aspire 1410 (Timeline 1810T) has an 11.6-inch (1366 x 768) LED backlit display. It comes with a 1.4GHz Intel ULV SU3500 processor, GMA 4500MHD graphics and supports up to 4GB RAM. The base model will come with a 250GB HDD.
Thanks Denny!
Acer Aspire Timeline 1810T hands-on pictures
August 7, 2009 at 11:25 am
As the Acer Aspire Timeline 1810T gets closer to launch, a couple of sites have managed to get hands-on with the CULV-based 11.6-inch device. The Timeline 1810T has a high resolution (1366 x 768) LED backlit display and will be powered by an ULV (ultra-low voltage) processor (1.4GHz Intel ULV SU3500), Intel GS45 chipset with GMA 4500MHD graphics.
Interestingly, the model logo appears to be ‘AS 1810T’. We’re not sure what the ‘AS’ part stands for (ASpire maybe?) Both hands-on below have the same model number, so maybe this is how it will be marketed. Read more

Rumours have circled for a few months that Acer was planning to release an 11.6-inch CULV-based ultra-thin to sit alongside or replace the Aspire One 751 netbook. Earlier this month, macles gave us the first details of this device (the Aspire Timeline 1810T) and now we can report that this ultra-thin has its own official Acer product page.
The product page reaffirms the previous report in terms of specifications. The Aspire Timeline 1810T will come with an 11.6-inch LED backlit display with resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. It will be powered by an ULV (ultra-low voltage) processor (1.4GHz Intel ULV SU3500), Intel GS45 chipset with GMA 4500MHD graphics. Acer Aspire Timeline 1810T: 11.6-inch CULV-based ultrathin
July 7, 2009 at 1:19 pm
We heard rumours a month back that Acer was planning to launch an 11.6-inch CULV-based ultrathin device to sit alongside the 11.6-inch Aspire One 751 netbook. We now have some firm technical details and photos of this new device. macles has revealed that it will belong to the Timeline series of notebooks under the model name Aspire Timeline 1810T.
Looking at the pictures its exterior looks almost identical to the Aspire One 751. Apparently, it is based on the same chassis and has the same 11.6-inch (1366 x 768) glossy display. However, that’s where the similarities end, as internally this has a 1.4GHz Intel ULV SU3500 processor, GS45 chipset and GMA 4500MHD graphics. The graphic chipset should be capable of HD hardware acceleration. Read more
