Asus Eee PC T101MT interface gets video walkthrough

February 9, 2010 at 1:43 pm

Asus Eee PC T101MTThe 10-inch Asus Eee PC T101MT is a mysterious machine, it first made an appearance at CES in 2009 but it still hasn’t been released. Recently, it passed through the FCC and even made an appearance once again at CES 2010 but we’re still no closer to getting any official launch details.

It may not to be too long to wait, however, as Asus has released a video tutorial of the user interface. It shows off some of the software applications including touching up photos, creating photo albums and leaving handwritten desktop memos. I didn’t notice any real differences to that used in the 8.9-inch T91MT. Whilst we continue to wait for the T101MT to show up you can check out the video after the jump. Read more

Asus Eee PC T101MT specs unearthed

January 9, 2010 at 8:01 pm

Asus Eee PC T101MTThe Asus Eee PC T101MT convertible netbook was first spotted passing through the FCC a few weeks back, and it was again on show at CES. The 10-inch version of the 8.9” Eee PC T91MT has been due to launch for the best part of the year, but its appearance hopefully means we will see it hit retail shelves in 2010.

The MT stands for multi-touch, although strangely Asus has opted for a 10.1-inch (1024 x 600) resistive panel, rather than capacitive. This means you need to exert a little pressure on the screen to get pinching to work. Asus has bundled a stylus and handwriting software into the package to make the most of its tablet features. Asus Eee PC T101Asus’ 10-inch convertible netbook has been on the cards for a while now and it looks like they may finally be getting around to launch it. The Asus Eee PC T101MT convertible tablet has passed through the FCC, pointing to the fact that it will launch with a multi-touch display (much like the 8.9-inch Eee PC T91MT).

The FCC filings do not reveal too much information apart from the product label and a picture of the back. Click through for these pictures. Hopefully we’ll hear more at CES 2010 in January. Read more

Impressions of the Asus Eee PC T91MT convertible netbook surface [Video]

November 10, 2009 at 2:43 pm

Asus Eee PC T91MTThe Asus Eee PC T91MT only started to ship in the last few days, however one user has already received his unit and posted his initial impressions. Kubel from MyT91 found that the 32GB SSD performed similarly to the 16GB SSD in the original T91, albeit it was a little slower. Windows 7 was also quite snappy in terms of performance.

Other features were similar to the original T91 and include a well designed 8.9-inch form-factor, a bright display that sits between matte & display and is a fingerprint magnet. It also comes with a firm hinge that is critical for a device that will be switched between tablet & netbook mode often. He hasn’t tested the multi-touch features extensively, but we can see some of those from an official Asus promo video attached after the break. Read more

Asus’ multi-touch Eee PC T91MT launching this week

October 19, 2009 at 9:03 am

Asus Eee PC T91The 8.9-inch Asus Eee PC T91 convertible netbook hasn’t sold through the roof, but then perhaps that was always expected given that most people knew a multi-touch model would be released with the launch of Windows 7.

Whilst we’ve not too heard too much of this recently, it appears that Asus is planning to launch this model, dubbed the Eee PC T91MT (‘MT’ obviously standing for multi-touch). The eagle eyes over at NetbookNews.de spotted that the black and white models are available to pre-order at Amazon.de for €505.98 and will launch on October 22nd (coinciding with the Windows 7 launch date).

The T91MT will come with Windows 7 Home Premium and a 160GB HDD (instead of the 16GB flash drive found on the T91). I’ve not seen similar listings in the UK or US for now, although I’d be surprised if it wasn’t made available in those markets soon.
