Asus Eee PC 1005HR netbook announced with HD display

Asus Eee PC 1005HRAsus Japan has announced a new addition to its Seashell family of Eee PC netbooks. The Asus Eee PC 1005HR appears to be exactly the same as current 1005HA Windows 7 models, but instead sports a high-resolution 10.1-inch display with resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels.

The 1005HR is powered by a 1.66GHz N280 Atom processor, 1GB RAM, 250GB HDD. It comes with Windows 7 Starter Edition and has a 6-cell battery that should be good for 8.4 hours. Other features include Wi-Fi (b/g/n), Bluetooth 2.1, 0.3MP webcam and three USB ports. It weighs 1.27kg.

The Eee PC 10005HR is available in both black & white and will be on sale in Japan in mid-November for 49,800 Yen. There’s no word whether this will appear in Europe/North America at this time.

    I manage a cluster of 5 computers with my ASUS 1005HA netbook.

    The computers render POVRay animations at HD resolution.

    I wish that I could have this little toy right now!
