The Asus Eee PC T101MT convertible netbook is finally getting closer to a release date. Asus UK has not confirmed pricing but it is listed on several retailer sites for around the £325 mark with a launch on April 12. This particular model will get you a 1.66GHz N450 Atom CPU, 2GB RAM, 320GB HDD, W7HP and a 6.5 hour battery.
The same model will be hitting mainland Europe for €499 according to EeePC.it, somewhat higher than the direct conversion of the above price. The US version will also be landing in early April for $499 according to Liliputing, although it’s unclear what specs this will come with. It is believed this model may only come with 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD and W7 Starter.

The article says “around the £325 mark” unyet the link provided gives £431.73 as the price including VAT. Not a bad difference is there? Can you provide proper sources for your prices? Thanks.
>alao oluwatobiloba> I suggest you take your PC to a computer upgrades/repairs shop to deal with the problems you are mentioning. Preferably one that speaks your own language.

Jamie – At the time of the article, the T101MT was listed at £325 including VAT at CCL Online (hence the link). The price has obviously shot up in the meantime for some reason.

Ha ha – I was hoping you’d just put the wrong link!
I’d buy one for £325 but at nearly £500 they are in the “cheaper laptop with better specs” range.
1.6 CPU? All the reviews I’ve seen say it’s 1.3. Hope you’re right.
I was thinking about buying a UMPC (fujitsu u820) but I realised they were just too small. The T91 looks like it should be a good compromise and I’ve heard that they’re doing a model with GPS which would be nice!
Great website BTW!

Thanks Jamie! The T101MT definitely has a N450 Atom processor (1.66GHz) by the way. The T91MT comes with a Z520 Atom (1.33GHz) that a few reviews have said is a bit sluggish.

Sorry, my mistake – I was reading it the wrong way round!
The only thing to work out is which one to buy? They both appear similar but in fact are very different. Could do with seeing them in person.
Do we know if any of the regular electrical/computer shops will be stocking these yet?

I was considering a Apple Powerbook G4 secondhand. when I did some digging around for some alternatives as a second pc/internet browsing device, I came across this interesting fellow… but now I see that the price has gone up a considerable amount, I might as well save a few more pennies and go back to the Powerbook idea.. too bad
